Viktor Zaretsky

Periods

Ukrainian secession. Klimt period

Description

The work "Ascension" is dedicated to the artist's first wife, social and political figure of Soviet Ukraine, Alla Gorska. The work has an unquestionable museum value, because it depicts an outstanding figure in Ukrainian history, which was vilely liquidated by the regime for her pro-Ukrainian position.

Provenance: The work was bought at the artist's workshop in Koncha-Zaspa in the 90s of the XX century by the philanthropist-collector Butsan G.P. from Maia Zaretska, the second wife of the painter.
